As a little girl, I absolutely adored chocolate Jello pudding (gross). Maybe you did, too? I had it all the time but now that there’s a supremely healthier version of chocolate pudding, and I can guarantee there’s no reason ever on the planet to eat that packaged stuff. You’ll want this one instead! 🙂

Maybe you’ve heard that chocolate is good for you… did you giggle when you heard that one? Well, it is true, but the catch is that you want your chocolate to be unprocessed, unheated, untreated, not roasted at high temps or with added refined sugars and pasteurized dairy as this is what makes chocolate unhealthy. What we want is the same deeply satisfying taste that’s positively addicting – yet without the guilt. It’s an easy fix: use heirloom chocolate powder instead of the more processed cocoa powder, add some superfoods to the mix to uplevel the nutrition, and sweeten it with an enzymatically-active raw honey to keep your immune system strong!
There are many raw pudding recipes available online with a base of bananas and dates but I prefer taking the road less traveled and for this one I chose avocados and raw honey. SO GOOD. The avocados bring a texture that nothing else can and are so easily digested (they are a fruit!), allowing this sweet dessert to feel so happy + light in your beautiful body.
Just as the size of avocados can vary, the pudding can vary slightly batch to batch. Ultimately what you’re going for is a suuuuper creamy pudding without it tasting too much like avocado, being too powdery, or with the flavor of honey too pronounced. It’s pretty easy to do once you’ve done it once 🙂
CREAMY CACAO SUPERFRUIT PUDDING
4 medium organic ripe avocados
¾ cup local organic raw honey
½ cup heirloom cacao powder
¼ cup melted organic extra virgin coconut oil
1-2 heaping teaspoons Everlasting Youth (herbal tonic superfruit blend)
1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder
pinches of sea salt
sprinkle of cinnamon powder
spring water to catch the blades (not always needed)

Blend ingredients together in a high-speed blender (Vita-Mix) using the tamper through the opening on the lid to push the ingredients onto the blades, adding a small amount of liquid (living spring water or non-dairy organic milk) only when necessary to get the silky smooth texture. You can certainly make this easy recipe if using a regular blender, but you may need to stop/start it more often scraping the pudding from the sides and on to the blades so it all gets mixed very well.
Use a spatula to scoop it out into your serving bowl or Tupperware container and relish the taste of real – unprocessed – superfood chocolate pudding! Eat some right away, or even better place your container in the refrigerator for a few hours and serve chilled. It tastes best chilled in my opinion!
