Ancient Secrets to Sleek, Slender & Sexy Thighs

My new #1 favorite way to instantly feel sexier and to seriously have leaner thighs in less time than you would have ever thought possible, is to… begin a Gua Sha routine! The picture posted here is a blend I made with a small amount of fair trade, organic coffee that’s been ground into a powder – I combined the heavy oil application of Gua Sha with my handcrafted body exfoliation scrubs. Using coffee is not part of this ancient healing technique, yet using coffee externally has tons of great benefits!

Slather raw, extra virgin, organic coconut oil all over your body (especially wherever you have extra fat, cellulite, unsightly scarring and stretch marks) while in the shower – step away from the water to apply (ideally a shower w/ a water filtration system to remove heavy metals & tap water chemicals and pharmaceuticals) and use on a DAILY BASIS. Choose a few smooth rocks from the beach (or bongers, traditional Gua Sha jade tools, spoons – something with a smooth edge & that can be held in your hand easily) and massage your oiled up skin with them (or with the bongers, ‘bong’ yourself)! Press harder than you think you should (you may get red – it’s okay!), even tending to the most sensitive areas of the body. You are breaking up calcification; this is the ancient practice that is called Gua Sha (simplified for this article). Gua Sha oil blends typically have oils such as coconut in them + high mineral powders (shilajit) to enhance rejuvenation, yet you can have fun with this and use your intuition as to what ingredients or tools work best for you.

You can use a dry brush on your skin prior to getting into the shower for an even greater effect as this will open up your pores and allow the coconut to penetrate the top layers of skin. You want the deeper penetration because these healthy fats of the coconut and cacao help to dissolve bad fats in the body (slimming!), even when applied externally. Remember, you absorb everything you put onto your body!

Everyone wants to look their best (slim, sexy, healthy), feel irresistible, and totally indulge the senses and relax the body (and much more often than the infrequent professional massage). Imagine being able to accomplish this all at the same time!

You can certainly add much more to this oil, but it’s a perfect start to any ideal skincare regimen. Just melt some coconut oil and store it in a glass mason jar and keep it in the shower. You can use this on your face for an absolutely heavenly aromatic cleanser and moisture replenisher in one. Your pores will shrink, tighten, and you will glow! Try adding a few drizzles of melted cacao butter to the mix to thicken up the blend and a tiny amount of vanilla bean powder for a slight exfoliation quality and to give an even greater richness and depth to your quick spa treatment. You may just find you’re cleansing, moisturizing, and indulging your body with just ONE product – start to finish, you’re a Goddess. You can rinse this simple Gua Sha oil off just enough to remove any vanilla bean powder, yet you want the silky, smooth finish where the water beads glisten atop your skin.

I am now offering my custom handcrafted Gua Sha oil blends; the 9oz is currently on sale: $20 for 4oz or $35 for 9oz (normally $40) + body scrubs + body butters; please contact me (ediblegoddess@gmail.com) if you’re interested in getting any of these or would like to hear more about them! The Gua Sha oil blends and all other handcrafted skincare products are unlike anything you’ve ever tried and are the perfect choice if you’re looking to have flawless, stunning and more youthful skin. Guaranteed!

The ingredients for the Gua Sha oils are abundant and may include any of the following: cacao butter, coconut oil, macadamia nut oil, sweet almond oil, rose hip seed oil, plum kernel oil, fair trade organic coffee (ground into powder), organic vodka, pumpkin seed oil, hemp seed oil, jojoba oil, pomegranate seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, olive oil (infused with approx 1 dozen herbs specifically for healing the skin), tamanu oil, calendula flower oil, vitamin E, raw cacao powder, shilajit, MSM, mucuna, flower essences, Oxygen Supreme, green tea extract, beauty elixirs… – everything is raw, organic/wildcrafted, ultra-pure, edible (minus the blends where vodka is used – more on this later on why it would be used), totally luscious, and cannot be compared to anything else you’ve ever tried! My favorite blend is simple: cacao butter, coconut oil, rose hip seed oil, shilajit, MSM, mucuna, cacao powder, vanilla bean powder and vitamin E (+ periodic batches w/ ground coffee)!

A post coming soon will go into even greater detail about my edible skincare line which I am starting to sell again on a small scale due to recent demand. The Universe has clearly shown me that I must continue this deep passion of mine!

Please comment and tell me if you’ve tried a home Gua Sha treatment before! What is your protocol, oils blends, and tools that are used? What types of products do you enjoy the most / what can you not live without in your beauty regimen?

    • I was pretty surprised to find out that traditionally vodka is used in the oil blends as well! This is how Dr. Cassar introduced Gua Sha to everyone at the Longevity Conference last year – I wasn’t there so I didn’t get the full explanation, but plan to. Alcohol is very astringent to the skin yet the idea I believe is to open up the channels of detoxification through the liver (stimulating it via the skin being rubbed w/ vodka & rocks) which will purge toxins quickly and within balance because you’ve included the highest sources of minerals in the world to the blend (like shilajit). Then your skin is exfoliated (w/ rocks, vanilla, coffee) and ready to detox on a high level and the coconut oil (+ other oils if you so choose) dissolves bad fat, especially in the liver (because of absorption), which the health of is directly related to your skin’s health (think brown/liver spots on your hands & body). Coconut oil is anti-fungal, anti-microbial, etc and will cleanse on its’ own, yet to infuse your body/organs/tissues w/ high minerals, and open up the pathways to detoxification, is the conclusion I’ve come to about this. Seems like there’s a brilliant strategy behind this.

I personally have just used the vodka a couple times when I first got started with this last summer and have since felt that that aspect was something I didn’t want to continue with until I know more. I have experimented adding the coffee to create a similar reaction in the body and with all its’ benefits, it has appeared to work amazingly well! When I get more info on this, I’ll share openly!

  1. I have never heard of a Gua Sha routine, thank you for sharing this. For me, I look for organic ingredients and for simple ingredients…I want to be able to pronounce everything on the label and know what it is!! It should be as natural as possible. I also want it to be made in a earth friendly environment by someone that truly cares about the earth and what they are doing. My must haves would be a good body oil/lotion, face scrub, lip balm and eye cream….

    • You’re welcome Audrey! Everything you are looking for is what I believe in, my values and standards for creating skincare. With edible skincare, you can certainly pronounce all ingredients + eat them (that’s what I consider the best of both worlds!).

I used to think that eye cream was just a marketing ploy to get women to purchase extra products, yet I’ve come to realize that certain oils are really specific, healing and ideal for removing lines & wrinkles, and some oils should not be used underneath the eye area at all! Thank you for your comment!

  2. I’m wondering if the scrubs I just purchased from you is what you just described. It’s smell of the chocolate is divine. I would be very interested in a great face (and body) cleanser, but especially formulated for the face.

After this you can tackle hair products?

So we just find some smooth rocks and go for it? Maybe you can do a demo video so we can visualize what we’re doing — e.g. circular motion — or up and down etc.

I loved your subject! Very interesting stuff!

    • Margie ~ the Gua Sha oil blends and body scrubs are different in that the scrubs really have a much greater exfoliation quality in comparison to doing a Gua Sha treatment, which is typically just oils and high mineral powders like shilajit (which are not in your scrubs because you’re rinsing them off so quickly). I have experimented using vanilla bean powder and ground fair trade, organic coffee (which are in the body scrubs) to the Gua Sha oils and I do love it, yet it’s not what I make every single time. Traditionally, just the oils are used – I love coconut oil as the base and adding some cacao butter to it to thicken especially this time of year when it’s getting much warmer.

I will create custom ones, with/without coffee, flower essences, other floral oils that are listed in this article. Most often, for myself though, I keep it simple (coconut, cacao, shilajit, MSM). I do want to mention that every batch turns out a bit different, all are unique because this is not an official product yet – it’s all intuition-based, depending on what feels right at the time. =)
