Nighttime Beauty Rituals + Nurturing Habits

Everything is special if you give it the meaning of being special. When I spend time alone, I enjoy making my time feel special, and have time that feels like I’ve really done something wonderful for my body, mind, and soul. Do things that make you happy. It’s really best to base your own happiness on you, and not on other people’s opinions of you. The more you tend to yourself, take care of you, the more you’ll fall in love with YOU. And then, you’ll be ready to fall in love with someone else!

Rejection
Dim the lights in your home, start your wood-burning stove if you have one, and create a mood that is conducive to nurturing your soul – you’ll know it when you’ve got it

Light some eco, non-toxic, paraffin-free candles (get them at your health food store or online) and have one in each room you’ll be in. Burn some palo santo and natural incense.

Read a book that captivates you (my current reads are The Motivation Manifesto by my business mentor Brendon Burchard, and The Goddess Path by Patricia Monaghan; a book I start the day with is called Journey to the Heart: Daily Meditations on the Path to Freeing Your Soul by Melody Beattie)

Practice yoga, handstands, stretch your body, and lift weights (I have weights that conveniently wrap around my wrists and I do all kinds of arm exercises while I do 100-200 squats)

Whip up a homemade facial mask with zeolite clay (I get mine from HealthForce but you can use any clay you have available), my Everlasting Vitality & Youth, a splash of living spring water and a tiny swirl of local raw honey – mix into a paste in a small ceramic bowl, and add any other extra goodies if desired (He Shou Wu, spirulina, and MSM crystals with turmeric are my usual additions). There’s no official “right” way to do this – use your intuition and PLAY! This is how my entire skincare line started … by playing!!

Make a beauty elixir to drink while you lay / chill / do nothing on the couch with your feet up (while listening to empowering podcasts / audios / music) and let your masque nourish and cleanse your beautiful face and neck (treat your neck the same way as your face, always!)

Take your health-enhancing pills + potions – there’s something about having a beauty masque on your face, drinking an herbal tonic elixir, and taking age-defying supplements. I take 2-3 caps of MSM / turmeric (the combo from Omica Organics), Liver Rescue, Friendly Force and Chlorella Tabs by HealthForce, and take a few swigs of homemade coconut water kefir OR a product called Inner-Eco which is the same thing but bottled (pricey, but your health is worth the cost of these living probiotics considering dis/ease starts in your digestive tract and healthy bacteria from probiotics health the gut – find it online or at your natural health food store)

Listen to podcasts that teach, inspire, and challenge you (my absolute favorites are Why Shamanism Now by Christina Pratt, and the ReWild Yourself one by Daniel Vitalis). You can download the episodes onto your podcast app or get it on iTunes on your cell phone! So worth it.

Listen to songs that you love so much you play them on repeat and sing them loudly. I am loving Dustin Thomas right now! He opened for and was part of the musical amazingness happening on stage with Nahko Bear / Medicine for the People at a show I saw recently. Amazing times with amazing friends!

Take a hot bath with epsom salts, dead sea salts, magnesium salts (Omica Organics), a scoop of my Herbal Infused Coconut Beauty Oil, zeolite clay and other superfoods sprinkled in, apple cider vinegar, and essential oils of choice. If you prefer to shower instead of take a bath like I do at times depending on my mood, I slather my herbal infused beauty oils on my body – over every single inch (body and face) – and lightly rinse it off before toweling dry. It’s 1 of my most favorite beauty habits that I’ve had for years and results in silky soft glowing skin!

Write, journal, do mind-maps (write out your project idea with a central focal point and extensions that support your vision – visually shown as circles for each idea / contribution to your highest goals)
