Releasing Limitations & Detrimental Lifetime Patterns

Have you ever considered that you may be holding yourself back in some way – big or small, to your detriment? I’ve thought about this extensively and am in a place where I’m actively getting to the nitty-gritty of why I would ever do such a thing, and how it’s impacted my life. We’ve accumulated patterns over the course of our life and these have become our default responses. It’s time to rise up and look closely at how we engage with others, if we communicate effectively, and if we respond appropriately to situations and circumstances, instead of with a rise of emotions that we haven’t addressed yet. Shine a light on your behavior and face it with a magnifying glass!

To release limitations of any and all kinds, we *must* step outside of our comfort zone. I feel that it serves us the most when we throw ourselves in the uncomfortable space that makes you nervous / anxious / feel resistance. That’s where the real growth is – the juice – the expanded level of consciousness that is available to you like a well-spring that opens up just because you made this intentional choice. It’s very powerful 🙂

ComfortZone

What’s 1 of the last things you want to do? What makes you feel contracted or tight in your body just thinking about it, or that you just feel you’re not ready for yet? That could be exactly where you need to go. As an example, I am not a girl who takes a bunch of pictures of myself and posts them online (selfies). There are people who do so very often, and for various reasons it was not something I resonated with. UNTIL – there was a profound shift. You cannot make it happen necessarily, you can just follow your intuition and lead your life and the experiences will come that allow you to move into a place that’s ready for a big shift.

After my Costa Rica retreat in April and at a few live events I’ve exhibited at since, I realized that people really need to SEE ME more. See all of me. See the youthful girl who shines and is behind Edible Goddess.

A customer stood at my booth at a local festival recently and said that she had been following my work for some time and was amazed to see how fit and glowing I was in person. Her facial expression of awe showed her truth in saying this. It was as though she felt that since I advocate and promote the healthiest versions of chocolate ever created, I may be overweight, with terrible skin, and depleted energy. Yes that’s a big assumption but it still made me I think, Wow – do other people think this, too? Am I unconsciously hiding behind my decadent smoothie, chocolate medicine + herbal elixir pictures?

Ahhh, yes – maybe I have been. I recognized that this was a limitation that I created for myself based upon a fear of judgment, or assuming that people want to just see my creations – but it turns out people want to see the girl who makes it all 😉 From a place of empowerment, I have decided to show myself more and to stand in my power doing so. Uncomfortable? Sure. Worthwhile? You better believe it.

I decided to embark on a public 30 day Edible Goddess Yoga challenge to dive head first into doing something I was resistant to. I’m doing yoga outdoors (I am not a yoga pro), snapping shots of me in different poses (at times in a bikini), and sharing them with my tribe online. I’m hearing from A LOT of people that they could never do this, that I must have so much courage and fearlessness and how do they even get to that point of being willing to show more of themselves in whatever way is relevant to them? DECIDE TO. Life is a choice. I’m choosing to grow even with this one small thing and it’s just a firm decision that rules the way I lead my life.

I hope this story-telling helps you! I honed in on a belief and action that was holding me back – a limitation to my expansion and potential, and decided to break down that barrier. You can too.
