The 5 Minute Invigorating Beauty Ritual For Lessening Cellulite (+ MUCH more)

And that’s just for starters!

Dry Skin Brushing is a newer habit for me, yet already, I crave it now that I’ve had a taste of it. I used to wonder if it would really make a difference. Now that I have taken the brush that has been sitting on the counter for too long, I can see what all the talk is about. Stimulation of the skin sets in motion natural healing pathways within your body. How amazing is that? If you do regular body exfoliants and dry skin brushing, you’re on your way to achieving stunning skin in a short amount of time!

In case you haven’t heard what the benefits are for dry skin brushing, I’ll list them here. Even just reading a few of these will make you want to brush you skin for 5 minutes each day, whenever it fits into your schedule – yet ideally first thing in the morning! My advice: make a great effort to squeeze it into your busy day. Your legs, arms and torso will tingle with energy and you’ll actually FEEL increased circulation throughout your body temple.

* Lessens cellulite
* Increases normal healing processes throughout the body
* Cleanses the lymphatic system
* Encourages your body’s discharge of metabolic wastes
* Removes dead skin layers
* Strengthens the immune system
* Stimulates the hormone and oil-producing glands
* Helps with muscle tone and more even distribution of fat deposits
* Tightens the skin preventing premature aging
* Tones the skin and body
* Rejuvenates the nervous system by stimulating nerve endings in the skin
* Stimulates circulation
* Improves the function of the nervous system
* Helps digestion
* Helps your skin to absorb nutrients and breathe by eliminating clogged pores
* Improve skin texture and cell renewal
* Enhance the detoxification process
* Prevent colds and sickness by eliminating toxins via the skin
* ‘Anti-aging’ practice; restores soft, supple skin at any age
* It feels invigorating and enlivening!

How to dry skin brush ~ You want to be dry and naked, prior to taking a bath or shower. Brush yourself starting at your feet, in long stokes toward your heart with a natural brush with or without a handle. Go over every part of your body and feel rejuvenated!

Skin brushing will enhance your health significantly! There are seemingly countless reasons to explore this simple beauty ritual that leads to dramatic and desired results. Keep it up for 30 days to really see and experience the changes.

Question for YOU: Do you dry skin brush and have you noticed any of the benefits listed above?

  1. I’ve been using a body brush for about two years now. Started using it because of dry skin issues we get here in Canada during the winter months with the heating in our homes. It works marvels….and yes, it does help in the distribution of the fatty tissues that tend to gather under your skin. I am…well, well over 50, and people are amazed when I tell them my chronological age. It’s fine that you eat well, but if your metabolism and circulation starts slowing down, you get clogged up. Thanks for sharing this; I wasn’t aware of the total list of benefits that you’ve shared!

    • Thanks to Deanna’s suggestion, I start on the left side of my body and go from there. It’s been over a week now and my skin DOES look younger, more even tone, and I feel better circulation. I’ve been faithful, doing it every morning first thing and plan to continue =) It also had had a lessening effect in the appearance of cellulite!

  2. Thank you Bethanne for this valuable information. I have a DRY Brush but it hasn’t been used in awhile.. I am motivated to get it out and start using it again after reading all of the benefits. Thank you 🙂

  3. Thanks Bethanne for a wonderful post. I too have neglected my brush for a long time, and you’ve inspired me to pick it up again. I’ve also read that one best starts on the left side of the body moving toward the heart, and then the right … I’m no expert in meridians, but thought it couldn’t hurt!

    Making this a daily ritual and combining it with some powerful visualization / affirmation exercises can really really set a wonderful tone for the day.

    Thanks again!

  4. Hi Beth!

    Once again, we seem to living parallel lives! I have also been dry skin brushing more lately, I have tried it over the years but never consistently to really see results. I have been consistent with it for about 6 weeks now. I definitely feel the tingling all over when I skin brush every morning and I love it!
    It is part of my 7 daily energizers that I do every day to ‘get the glow’

    Thanks for listing all the benefits, definitely motivation to keep going.

    • Hyacinth! I know, right?! =) I love that tingling feeling and possibly I’m just appreciating the invigoration in the AM and have yet to see profound results, but it has just been a couple weeks so I imagine even better things to come. I’d love to hear about your ‘7 daily energizers’ – sounds like a great guest blog post for Edible Goddess! I’ll email you… xxx

  5. Bethanne,

    Thanks for this reminder. My cactus bristle brush that I insisted on buying so many month ago hardly ever gets used. I’m going to take your inspiration to heart and start brushing everyday. I really need this for all the reasons you have listed.

    I don’t think it is an accident that I dreamed about you twice in the past week. I met you at the Grawnola Market in Mill Creek, WA when you were doing a HealthForce demo. Shortly after that I saw you sitting at an outdoor cafe table at Costco with a green smoothie in hand. I didn’t stop to say Hi as you were deep in conversation. I figured you were doing a counseling session. That is how you have been coming to me in my dreams, you are sitting at a table counseling others on how to live healhier lives, and I am listening in from around the corner.

    Keep up the great work.

    Healthy regards,

    • WOW, Frances! Thanks so much for sharing this! Funny… I must have been doing a Vita-Mix demo when you saw me at Costco, and I know the day you are referring to because someone within the company came to visit and we were chatting outside =) Wild! I wasn’t counseling… I was explaining that doing demos for VM was not in line with my deepest passions and although it gave me excellent speaking experience, being in that vibe, in that store, is/was not for me.

      So happy to hear from you that you’ve had these synchronicities!! Stay in touch =)) xxx
